Privacy Policy

How AnyTTY collects, uses, shares, and protects information across its website, apps, and managed services.

Last updated: August 23, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how AnyTTY ("AnyTTY," "we," "us," or "our") handles information when you use the AnyTTY website, applications, open-source software, and optional managed services (collectively, the "Services").

1. Scope

This policy applies to Services operated by AnyTTY. It does not apply to third-party websites, services, or independently operated deployments, even when they work with AnyTTY software. The open-source software can run locally or through connections you control; information that remains on your own devices is not collected by AnyTTY.

2. Information we process

Depending on the Services you use, we may process:

  • Website and diagnostics data: IP address, browser and device type, requested pages, timestamps, referring pages, crash data, and similar technical logs.
  • Account and service data: your name, email address, account identifiers, authentication records, service settings, subscription status, invoices, and transaction identifiers.
  • Payment data: payment providers process payment-card and billing details under their own privacy policies. AnyTTY may receive limited transaction information, such as payment status, amount, currency, and a payment-provider reference. We do not receive or store complete payment-card numbers.
  • Connection data: device identifiers and labels, pairing and authorization metadata, IP and network information, route diagnostics, and connection timestamps needed to discover devices and establish or troubleshoot a connection.
  • Terminal and file content: local, SSH, and Direct connections do not route terminal or file content through the AnyTTY managed service. When a managed Relay is used, it forwards encrypted traffic without receiving terminal or file permissions. We process content only as needed to provide a feature you request, investigate a support issue you submit, or comply with law.
  • Communications: messages, attachments, and contact details you send when requesting support, reporting abuse, or otherwise communicating with us.

3. Where information comes from

We receive information directly from you, automatically from your use of the Services, from devices you connect, and from service providers such as identity, hosting, analytics, and payment providers.

4. How we use information

We use information to provide and secure the Services; authenticate accounts and devices; establish requested connections; process subscriptions and transactions; maintain, troubleshoot, and improve reliability; respond to support and abuse reports; communicate service and policy changes; comply with legal obligations; and enforce our agreements.

Where applicable law requires a legal basis, we rely on performance of a contract, our legitimate interests in operating and securing the Services, compliance with legal obligations, and consent where we specifically request it. You may withdraw consent at any time, without affecting earlier processing.

6. How we share information

We may share information with vendors that provide infrastructure, authentication, analytics, customer support, communications, fraud prevention, and payment processing; with professional advisers; when required by law or necessary to protect rights, safety, and the Services; in connection with a merger, financing, acquisition, or sale of assets; or when you direct us to share it.

We do not sell personal information or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.

7. Retention

We retain information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described above, including providing the Services, maintaining security and business records, resolving disputes, and meeting legal obligations. Retention periods depend on the type of information and why it is processed. You may request deletion of eligible account information by contacting us.

8. International transfers

AnyTTY and its providers may process information in countries other than where you live. Where required, we use recognized safeguards for international transfers of personal information.

9. Security

We use administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security. Keep credentials and pairing claims confidential, revoke access you no longer need, and contact us if you believe your account or device access has been compromised.

10. Your choices and rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, or object to processing of your personal information, obtain a portable copy, or appeal a decision about a request. You may also lodge a complaint with your local data-protection authority. To submit a request, email us. We may need to verify your identity before completing it.

11. Children

The Services are not directed to children under 13, or a higher minimum age where required by local law. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children below the applicable age. Contact us if you believe a child has provided us with personal information.

12. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the Services or applicable requirements change. We will post the revised policy here, update the date above, and provide additional notice when required by law.
