Organize tasks and hand over
Remote automation includes making tasks discoverable and understandable to people. Plan naming and handoff metadata at creation time.
Organize parallel work
Use names such as demo-build, demo-tests and demo-server, with tags such as project=demo and role=test. Keep separate targets and result files; concurrent tasks must not overwrite a shared wait.json.
Isolate working directories before parallel repository edits. Multiple terminals do not automatically isolate a Git checkout.
Human observation
Open the TUI manager with Ctrl+G → p and find the task, or use the App’s device terminal list. Observation can coexist with agent reads, but concurrent PTY input may interfere.
Handoff protocol
- The agent reports endpoint, target, command, directory and what needs attention.
- It stops sending PTY input while human input is required.
- The person opens the same task, checks the current program and acts.
- After confirmation, the agent rereads state and screen before continuing.
Size ownership coordinates resizing, not this input protocol. A follower is not necessarily unable to send input.
Cleanup
Report successful exits, failures and services left running. Remove records after review, not before delivering failure evidence. Archive artifacts separately; see delivery.
