Automatic startup and lifecycle
Run anytty for everyday use; the TUI starts the local daemon when needed. Manual commands are for unattended operation, listener changes, diagnosis and maintenance.
Inspect
anytty daemon status
anytty daemon doctor
Status reports service state; doctor checks runtime paths, socket and ownership. The boundary is normally the current OS user. A different user or socket may address another instance environment.
Unattended startup
anytty daemon start
Use this to prepare a background service for CLI or remote clients. Starting an existing daemon does not reload configuration. See Direct for listeners.
Logs
anytty daemon logs --lines 100
anytty daemon logs --follow
Inspect the relevant time window and redact credentials, invitations and business output before sharing. Resolve paths with anytty config paths.
Stop and restart
anytty daemon stop
anytty daemon restart
Both affect running tasks. Inventory work and save results first. Restarting does not restore process memory or merely reopen the TUI.
Use daemon run for foreground diagnosis, not beside a background instance using the same socket/data. Isolated tests need separate configuration, socket and state directories.
Verify changes
Check status, relevant endpoint routes and a small test task. Theme changes only require reopening the TUI; schedule daemon restarts for background settings.
