Floating panels
Floating panels provide temporary log views, auxiliary shells or a task above the tiled layout. They display ordinary daemon-owned terminals, not a separate task type.
Create and open
Enter floating mode with Ctrl+O. Built-in n creates a panel, f opens the terminal picker and o opens the floating overview. In the terminal manager, Ctrl+O opens the selected task in a floating panel.
Confirm focus before typing. Use the overview or number shortcuts when panels overlap.

Collapsing or hiding a panel does not pause its task. Check the manager after closing a view; explicitly end a task when that is your intention.
Practical organization
Keep primary long-running work in tabs and splits, and use floating panels for temporary observation. Give tasks meaningful names and remove unneeded exited records periodically.
Customize borders and controls in appearance settings. Changes to remote PTY dimensions still follow size ownership.
