Remote devices

The TUI displays configured remote devices as endpoints. Prepare connectivity and pairing first, then choose devices and open or create tasks in the workbench.

Prepare an endpoint

Choose SSH, Direct or Cloud, then register the device through pairing or supported CLI configuration. The TUI Connections page primarily edits, enables/disables and refreshes existing endpoints; it is not a complete pairing wizard.

Inspect Connections

Press Ctrl+G → e. Check the device label, enabled state, routes and connection status.

Screenshot to add · TUI connections

Explain endpoint state and path without real addresses or fingerprints.

Capture instructions · tui-connections

Open Ctrl+G → e and select a synthetic SSH or Direct endpoint with status and route details.

Built-in actions are Enter edit, Space enable/disable and r refresh. After changing routes or selection policy, establish a new connection to evaluate the new configuration.

A saved endpoint is not necessarily reachable; a connected device does not prove a task succeeded.

Open remote terminals

Press Ctrl+F, switch device with left/right, then open an existing task or select New Terminal. Verify server and workdir: remote directories can differ from local ones.

Use descriptive task names and consider including the endpoint in pane titles with tui.chrome.pane_title_template. See appearance.

Diagnose offline devices

Check that the target machine and daemon are running, then examine addressing, network and authorization. Use anytty endpoint test ENDPOINT for protocol reachability; see CLI device commands. Disabling or removing a local endpoint does not revoke its target-side grant.
