Frequently asked questions
These answers clarify common behavior and link to detailed guides.
Must I start the daemon every time?
No. anytty starts it when the TUI needs it. Manual commands serve maintenance and unattended setup.
Do tasks survive leaving the TUI or App?
They continue while the target machine and daemon run. Shutdown and daemon restart are different; see lifecycle.
Is Cloud required?
No. Local, SSH and Direct work independently. Cloud optionally provides cross-network discovery and connectivity.
Why pair after Cloud sign-in?
Accounts/enrollment and client authorization are separate. The target daemon issues grants to specific clients.
Are phone and desktop terminals independent?
Opening the same target means one shared process. Input and resizing can affect others. Create another terminal for independent work.
Is a follower read-only?
No. The role coordinates size, not complete input/file permissions. See sizing.
Why are my copy keys different?
Built-in, recommended and custom configurations differ. Check current help and binding configuration.
Does TUI YAML configure the phone?
No. App fonts, themes and the petal menu use App settings. Workbench layouts are also separate from theme YAML.
Why did a task fail after wait succeeded?
Wait success means the requested state was reached. Inspect the program’s exit_code.
Can the App preview every format?
Native preview focuses on size-limited text and images. Download other formats for an appropriate application. See preview limits.
Where are Web tutorials?
This edition covers TUI, App and CLI. Web remains in product diagrams; tutorials follow its interaction improvements.
