P2P, Relay and limits
Cloud can coordinate P2P or use Relay forwarding. The resulting path depends on network conditions, policy and available service capabilities.
Path meaning
P2P attempts direct client-to-target exchange. Relay forwards when a direct path is unavailable or not selected. Both retain daemon ownership and identity/authorization requirements.
Configure policy
anytty endpoint policy set ENDPOINT --route cloud --cloud-path auto
For diagnosis, help also exposes p2p, relay and smart_route, with Relay transport auto, udp or tcp. Verify changes in a new session. Forced P2P may fail rather than fall back to Relay.
Limits and accounting
Route features, smart selection, Relay transports and quotas may depend on the service plan and state. Inspect current service information when a capability or quota error appears; recreating terminals will not resolve it.
P2P and Relay may be accounted for differently. Current service and purchase information define prices and quotas; this guide makes no fixed latency guarantee.
Diagnostic evidence
Record network, actual path, time, versions and redacted errors. Test individual paths before automatic selection. Relay forwards protected traffic but does not issue terminal/file grants. The service still processes operational metadata; see security and privacy.
