Touch, keyboard and petal menu

Mobile input combines text, control keys and each terminal program’s interaction model. The App supports software keyboards, hardware keyboards and a configurable petal menu. Test with harmless input first.

Text and control keys

Focus the terminal, open the keyboard and run pwd in an idle shell to verify the target. Editors, interactive programs and shells interpret keys differently. For example, Ctrl+C may interrupt a task rather than copy text.

With a hardware keyboard, check OS and input-method shortcuts. Interface copying and sending control keys are separate actions.

Configure the petal menu

Open terminal/petal settings, enable the menu, choose haptic feedback and edit its slots.

Show the software keyboard and extra keys, a long-press menu and its action editor.

Start with frequently used control and navigation actions. Test each change in a disposable terminal. Resetting restores default slots; read the confirmation first.

Keyboard layout modes

Terminal settings provide Auto, Resize and Shift keyboard modes to accommodate the software keyboard. Check prompt and cursor visibility on your device. Keyboard layout adaptation and remote size ownership are related but separate concerns.

Scrolling and pasting

Adjust scrolling inertia in terminal settings. Before pasting, inspect the focused program and embedded newlines. Avoid pasting multiline commands into an editor, password prompt or unrelated REPL.

See display settings for fonts and cursor options.
